The Jagaban and His Master Plan.

As we all know, there's currently an ongoing plan set in place to construct a mega city out of Lagos, one that will be void of flooding, traffic congestion, poor drainage systems or power supply and waste management. The plan was set in place by Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his administration as lagos state governor and was handed down to his successor Babatunde Raji Fashola which he eagerly took over and furthered the already ongoing work. Although the incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode was meant to and even kinda took part in the process, there were rumours of him trying to deviate from the plan thus placing him at odds with the Tinubu which inadvertently led to his loss of followers thus making him lose out on the primary elections of the APC which Bola Tinubu himself came out to confirm saying he drifted away from the already set out master plan for the state.

So for those who keep asking about what really is the master plan Tinubu keeps emphasizing on, it's a blueprint that when eventually achieved would put not only Lagos state but Nigeria at the forefront of African prosperity and economic glory. As its been said that Rome wasn't built in a day. This process also isnt one to be hurried or have it's completion anytime soon because not only are the contractors taking their time, there's actually a whole lot of work being put in place in order to actualize this vision. Although some parts of the mega city has been completed and is ready  inhabitants of homes and companies won't move into the Eko Atlantic city yet until the whole project is totally completed. A plot of land is said to cost about a million dollars and the demand by stakeholders and companies are already high because the sand filling process is almost completed and like I already mentioned,  some parts are already completed. Unlike many other unfulfilled past projects in the country, this promises to be seen through till the very end because not only is it being handled by the one of the best construction companies in the world (same company responsible for the construction of palm island, world island etc), the whole idea is being overseen by a very competent and intelligent person Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubi, who since his tenure never failed to deliver on his word or see any of his projects to perfect completion. In the subsequent paragraph, I'll briefly familiarize you with a brief and concise narration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's early life.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu was born into the Illustrious and popular Tinubu family of Lagos, He attended Richard Daley college Chicago Illinois where he earned himself a place in the school's honours list. He subsequently proceeded to Chicago state university where he obtained a bachelors degree in business Administration (accounting and management). During his undergraduate years, he was awarded with the outstanding students award, the university scholars award and a certificate of merit in accounting and finance. On his arrival in the united states in the year 1975 with the support of his mother, this courageous youth faced with a zeal to succeed took on such menial jobs such as dish washing, night guard and cab driving just to see himself through the initial difficulties of keeping up with tuition fees and settling of other bills. In his final year, young Bola contested for and won his first political election as the president of the accounting society of Chicago state university. Upon his graduation, he came out with honours and later moved on to work with Deloitte Huskins and Touche GTE service corporation which is on of the largest communication and utility company in the united states. After a while he returned to the country. His political career began in 1992, on the platform of the Social Democratic party, after being elected to the senate. He was given the popular JAGABAN title in Niger state after some philanthropic gesture shown during a tough time for the community and state. In 1999 He went on to contest an win the governorship election of lagos state under the Alliance for Democracy (AD). He also got his mandate for a second term in 2003. He is married to chief Mrs Oluremi tinubu, the senator representing lagos central. He is fondly referred to as the sovereign of lagos state and is revered by many being the national APC chairman.

Atiku vs Buhari for 2019 ~ Is this really a case of the devil and the deep blue sea?

Heyy everyone,  I believe by now we are all pumped up and enthusiastic about the forth coming general elections. I also know that we are not only well aware of the fact that regardless of the over 50 registered political parties, the presidential race always boils down to the top 2 contenders who apparently stand a better chance of clinching the highly coveted position as the grand commander of the armed forces of the most populous black nation in the world.

However, there are many stages to pass and prerequisites to be attained before getting into the Aso-rock villa. One of which is winning the primary election of your party. Some might tend to downplay this seeing as its a partisan event but its quite as crucial as the main election because if you don't pass the primaries, you obviously wont be eligible to compete in the main elections. Although our president and current APC flag bearer Muhammadu Buhari got his APC mandate unopposed,  his PDP counterpart Atiku Abubakar had to slog it out with the likes of Rabiu Kwankwaso, Attahiru Bafarawa, Sule Lamido, Jonah Jang and the current senate president Bukola Saraki but alas he triumphed over all to not only go ahead to be PDPs flag bearer but won over the support of top national elder statesmen like former president chief Olusegun Obasanjo and ex millitary head of state Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.

Meanwhile before we proceed, we won't omit or forget to make mention of other worthy aspirants such as Oby Ezekwesili, Fela Durotoye, Kingsley Moughalu, Omoyele Sowore.  Lets be frank, neither of these are names are winning but we gotta acknowledge theie valiant efforts right.... Lol. So back to the elephants in the room, we'll start with Atiku Abubakar. He is an indigene of Adamawa state, well read, great philanthropist, very successful business man, a respected elder statesman and a past vice president under the Olusegun Obasanjo administration. I'd say he's kinda everyone's favourite for the forthcoming elections although there are a few slanders here and there such as; unlawful acquisition of landed properties in Yola (which wasn't even proved), then there's the issue of insubordination while he served as VP under President Obasanjo which spawned a decade of cold shoulder and shade throwing between the two. There's actually a long list of negative things said by nay sayers which includes "Atiku is corrupt and would render this country bankrupt" or given the fact that he is a shareholder with Mikano generators, we should all forget about fixing of the nations power issue which has been one of the most difficult challenges to surmount since independence. Personally I don't think he's that bad, everyone deserves a shot atleast until they flop.

Then there is our incumbent president and APC flag bearer, president Muhammadu Buhari who after many passed failed attempts under different party umbrellas finally got his mandate to rule the country. He got his historic victory on 28th march 2015 this making him the first president to democratically defeat an incumbent. He had the advantage of being the candidate of a united opposition party called the All Progressive Congress which had heavy defectors who dominated the political scene since 1999. Judging by when he ruled as a military head of state in 1983, making law and order his priority no one was surprised that he immediately started tackling corruption and restoring past looted funds from national treasury and public offices and even jailing some past public servants in some cases. Although many beg to differ and feel that his method isn't just working because the nations economy has obviously had a slip, there's no evident improvement in power supply and the boko haram are still out there in the north. Some even say, "if the current state of the nation is as a result of Buhari tackling corruption, we better leave corruption to flourish with us" . I don't subscribe to that because good things comes to those who wait and you don't just expect the change to come in 4 short years, considering the major health challenge he faced in 2017 which kept him out of office at different consecutive times one of which spanning over 4months. Not forgetting his sons major accident which nearly claimed his life. I do understand that we want to see the nation progress and blossom as soon as possible but bear in mind that these things take time and Rome wasn't built in a day. Conclusively, you can tell by my write up that I'm not necessarily rooting for or in support of either of the candidates, I just did my bid by presenting facts and mirroring the voices on the streets. After all has been said and done, it boils down to us as individuals, citizens, stakeholders and masses to decide and make the right choice for the sake of our great and beloved country. God bless Nigeria 💚

My writers block and how it helped rebrand our blog.

With reference to the influx of DMs, texts and calls I'm indeed sorry for going MIA and not posting these past weeks. However, I had a genuine reason which for a while now prevented me from doing that which I love doing most (blogging). You see guys, I was hit by the very worst type of writers block. Yes, writers block! Some might ask if that's even a thing or others might trivialize it by making it seem like a mere distraction which I should overcome by myself. Bruh, it really isn't that, neither is it an easy thing to overcome.

Writers block can be defined as the period of time whereby a writer finds himself or herself totally unable to efficiently compose or put together articles which makes up his/her body of work regardless of all efforts being put in place, it all proves futile and brings them to no avail. Writers block happens to bloggers, script writers, artistes and basically anyone whose work or craft involves the art of writing. There's a wide range or causes of writers block which include; change of environment, stress, multitasking and depression. The last two being my case but not to worry I'm a lot better now and less occupied. Asides the aforementioned causes, writers block may just happen out of the blue and all you can do is sit it out and allow it pass. I'd have loved to suggest ways to curb this issue but to be honest, its always best to just let it take its course and pass. Yes, I understand time is money and some projects are time bound or have a certain duration for submission but I ain't gonna lie here, if you don't know the actual cause of your block, thus knowing how to get rid of it just be a little patient and you'll be fine.

Like the say, every cloud has a silver lining, that's also how in some cases writers block helps transcend or transform a persons work of art. Don't skip the part where I said " some cases" because people may go on with business as usual after its occurrence. Whereas, I always like to ride with the bad till I find the good in it then take the credit for making a bad thing good :p  In the same vein, I pondered on what I could get out of my block and after a while... I still got nothing. Yeah nothing! Remember I said my writers block was badass but as they say 2 heads are better than 1 and y'all also remember I stated from the start that the blog is owned by 2 people. That's how during random outdoor chills Millie came up with the idea of posting about sports stars rather than the normal way of circling around celebrities and pop culture and to make it at tad bit more serious and relevant plus the current mindset of everyone focused on our next years general elections and the ongoing U.S election, we could add political write ups and sports analysis.

I suppose its safe to say the topic of this post should have been "How Millie helped clear my writers block after a chilled bottle of henny" cus I not only had my writers block cleared but got an entirely new and different idea for rebranding our blog. Like they say inspiration can strike anywhere and anytime. I really do hope y'all will love the new methods of posting and chosen topics. I'll pick from the various politicians and numerous sports stars, literally dissect some, critique others, and write an extensive exposé on a few. However the blog owners and domain name would remain the same. Good morning and happy Sunday !!
