How Linda Ikeji Literally Broke My Heart & Dashed My Hope Last Year

Sooooo guyssss! It’s literally been ages since I last posted here. Yeah yeah I know it’s not really ethical or remotely nice to just stay offline for that long but to be honest, I have my reasons be it the PTSD from the election, personal closure I’ve been seeking, indecisiveness as to what exactly to make this blog about or the lil Cold War between myself and Millie who as y’all know, literally has a stake in the ownership of this blog. I really just needed time to navigate through these issues and balance myself mentally before I can return to making posts.

Furthermore and most importantly, I refrained from making posts because an unforeseen issue dampened my spirit and made me literally not wanna write anymore. This definitely wasn’t a block because ideas came but I dispelled them myself before they could even constellate and make up a meaningful article. This was because the main aim and reason for creating this blog seemed defeated and just like the titanic, a promising and elaborate plan was apparently going under. Most of y’all still ain’t got the hang of what I’m on about right? Imma fix that in the subsequent paragraph.

So early last year 2018, around February Linda Ikeji’s official Instagram account made a call to the general public to come audition for a chance to get a reality show deal which my friends and I attended and fortunately got short listed. A date for another stage of audition was fixed and we aced it then came the major screening and interview which ended up in us getting selected for a reality show of our own. Our contract was drafted although yet to be signed, and all that was left was the selection of a choice location and the commencement of filming which unfortunately never happened due to multiple delays and unending stories. First was Her maternity trip to the states which made us pause for 3 months followed by some back and Forths between management and investors then finally the uncertainty of the election outcome which according to “a reliable source” finally scared off the investors.

However, during all these delays and disparities all 5 of us; Yvonne Uka, Abayomi Jimoh(hyrish.com), Kevwe Umosun, Michael Agofure (king Millie) and myself remained calm and even suggested covering the fees for the apartment ourselves to be reimbursed later that’s if the management was having money troubles but we were never really carried along or properly made to understand whatever the issue was. The little bits of information I got from our executive producer Mrs Mahin was all we used in putting 2 and 2 together to discover something wasn’t quite adding up. Then we took a step back and got confirmation that there’s been a general pause in the running of things in the company. As at now the entire office complex is indefinitely closed and no new production is running at LITV.

Conclusively, I felt the need to make this post because psychology made us understand that its good to let things out... be it in sharing verbally, shedding a few drops, shouting to ease tension or putting it in writing like I just did. Although I’ve followed a different path and taken up a new venture which has led me to exploit more possibilities in the media and show biz industry, I still needed to let this hurt go by sharing it with whoever might be reading and to also encourage anyone who might be reeling from one disappointment or another to hang in there and keep grinding. Oh and Our show storyline was about the life of 5 different people (actor, bloggers, influencers) and how they navigate through their daily lives in the public eye, develop thick skin against cyber bullies and still manage to hold the forte in their personal issues. Yeah I know it would have been awesome to watch, the Dream still lives and I vehemently believe that one day we’ll get to film this !
